IKC Strandeiland, Ijburg
A new school is being built for the children, teachers, supervisors, parents and all other users of the IKC Strandeiland on IJburg in Amsterdam.
The building will have a free form with a double-height central heart around which the ‘elementary’ building parts are grouped. As a result, the different users are ‘in a circle with each other’ and are connected by that heart.
In addition to a fully circular building system, it will be a building with Zero On The Meter (NOM), which goes one step further in sustainability than with an energy-neutral building (ENG).
The construction time will take about a year, so that the children on IJburg will be welcomed and educated at this new ‘school of the future’ in the 2026/2027 school season. For this project, Air-Concepts supplies the VAV and CAV units to Brandsen Installatietechniek BV.
