The Pearl
The latest expansion of the De Vries en Verburg office is completely circular and energy-neutral. The building is a model of sustainable building and innovations, due to the high ambitions of the client and the intensive, interdisciplinary collaboration in the existing design team. The building was designed by Kolpa Architects.
The adaptive installations – such as a ‘ring channel’ – are located under a raised floor. This design provides ultimate flexibility: without modification of the installations, all floors can be freely arranged, also in the future. In this way, the wooden shell remains experienceable. This honest appearance rhymes with the philosophy of client De Vries en Verburg: ‘what you see is what you get’.
Air-Concepts has supplied the control and measurement equipment to Johnson Controls.
