Lloyds of London
Lloyd’s of London, more commonly known as Lloyd’s, is a major marketplace for insurance and reinsurance. Although Lloyd’s is not an insurer itself, it provides a platform for insurance buyers and its affiliated sellers, called syndicates, to do business.
The Lloyd’s Building is often referred to as the ‘Inside-out building’. The building looks like it has been turned inside out, like a backpack. The technical equipment of the building has been uncovered by the architect and the whole resembles a large industrial complex. To top it all off, the unusual office building stands in the city’s business district and clearly stands out from its surroundings. The design is by Richard Rogers & Partners.
